Understanding the Truth about Abs

Maybe you have heard about one of the bigger selling diet programs on the market today called the Truth about Abs. With all the new diet programs that surface each year, it’s difficult to decide which one to try and difficult to know which one is going to be the most effective. The main theory behind this diet program is eating the right types of foods that work to maximize the fat burning process. The foods we need to avoid are prepackaged foods that have additives and preservatives to prolong their shelf lives. If you think about it, it really makes sense. Our bodies were designed to metabolize and process foods in their most natural state. While the additives and preservatives do work to prolong the life of certain types of foods, our bodies are not designed to efficiently metabolize these chemicals. The process of breaking down these chemicals in our bodies takes more work than natural and organic foods therefore, slowing down the fat burning process.

Because the fat burning process is slowed down, this could actually cause us to retain or even add on excess weight. Don’t let the big food manufacturers fool you. They try convincing consumers that the reason for the additives and preservatives is to prolong shelf life in order to save the consumer money. This is not the case. Prolonging the shelf life of their products saves them money. This allows them to mass produce their products and store them in warehouses which saves them time and ultimately saves them money on overhead costs and product spoilage. It is true that natural and organic products are priced a little higher than items with preservatives in them because they will spoil or go bad faster, however, if the serious dieter takes the time to plan out their menus and shopping lists they can avoid wasting food and having to throw items away. Most people will find that diet programs, such as this one, that center on eating the correct types of foods are less restrictive than other diets.

It is common knowledge to most Americans that our food is our fuel and as the old saying goes, “You are what you eat.” You wouldn’t put diesel fuel in an automobile that requires unleaded would you? Obviously we know that using the incorrect type of fuel in our vehicles can wreak havoc on the car and could end up being quite costly to repair. Well we need to think of our bodies in the same way. The correct fuel will cause our bodies to become highly efficient fat burning machines. Ultimately, serious dieters are looking for long term solutions for their weight problems so eating the correct foods is definitely a step in the right direction.
